I’m trying to revive a dying orchid. It was accidentally left in a hot vehicle for over a week while I was on vacation. The leaves are dry, withered, yellow and dead but the roots still look salvageable. Should I just cut off the leaves, repot, and hope that new leaves will grow?

    • Mary Ann says:

I think repotting at this time might be a little too much for the plant. It may take a long time for the plant to bounce back from this. Make sure that you use a weak fertilizer solution less often than you usually would. In between fertilizer applications, flush out the potting medium to get rid of any residue. Pests may infiltrate now while your plant is weaker – just be alert and good luck! – Mary Ann
